Looking for a free Jackbox-style option?
Jackbox Party Packs are good games. They cost about $30 per pack, one person buys and hosts, everyone else joins on a phone. PartyLab is a different thing: a free browser hub with original games in the same shape — phone as controller, share a link, no signup.
PartyLab is not Jackbox, not made by Jackbox Games, and not a copy of Jackbox games. Names, prompts, art, and rules here are original. This page uses the name only to describe the comparison.
How they compare
PartyLab (this site)
- Free in v1
- Original games: Hot Takes, Doodle Chain, Mole Word, Block Drop
- Host shares a link; friends join on phones
- No signup, no download, no host purchase
- Rooms auto-delete after 24 hours
Jackbox Party Packs
- Paid packs, about $30 each
- Polished packs with many games per pack
- One owner hosts; others join on phones
- Years of content and production value
- Best if your group wants the full catalog
Which should you pick?
If your group already owns a Jackbox pack and loves it, use it. PartyLab is for the other moment: friends on a group chat, ten minutes to fill, nobody wants to buy or install anything. Try Hot Takes first — it is the fastest to explain.
